Era: Before and after the flood (Genesis 6:9-10; 7:6)
Noah
The man who walked with God while everything was corrupt
Noah was the son of Lamech and the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth. The Bible describes him as a just man who walked with God in a time filled with violence. At God's command he built an ark, and in it his family and the animals were saved during the flood.
When he came out of the ark, God made a covenant with him and set the bow in the clouds as its sign. The peoples of the earth descend from his sons, and his name appears in the genealogy of Jesus. The New Testament remembers him as an example of faith and as "a preacher of righteousness".
